Our AI-Native and Digital Transformation client require a fluent Mandarin speaking Java Tech Lead to join them as soon as possible on a digital transformation project being delivered to their customer in the iGaming & Sports Betting sector.
Contract details:
- Start Date: ASAP or by no later than Monday 3rd August 2026.
- Determination: Outside IR35.
- Base: Fully remote.
- Day Rate: £600 per day.
- Contract length: 3 months initially but extensive "highly likely".

Responsibilities:
- Leading the workstream: Owning your workstream end to end.
- Defining and overseeing technical implementations: shaping how things are built, not just writing code.
- Championing AI-assisted ways of working.
- Building Java services across REST APIs and Kafka / event-driven pipelines (roughly an even split), with a focus on readable, maintainable and well-tested code.
- Writing tests as part of development (TDD approaches are encouraged).
- Integrating with third-party API.

Tech Skills required for successful applicant:
- Modern Java (Java 8+) with Spring Boot.
- RESTful Java APIs and Kafka / event-driven services.
- CI/CD pipelines.
- AWS (including S3, Lambda, ECS, EKS, MSK).
- Kubernetes and containerisation Infrastructure as code AI integrations and agentic development workflows.
- Strong security practices across the stack Full DevOps ownership.
