Java & TypeScript Development Team Lead - Glasgow

Location: Glasgow – ONSITE Preferred
Salary: £80,000-£85,000

Overview

We’re looking for a hands-on Full Stack Technical Lead who combines strong development expertise with inspiring team leadership. This is a fantastic opportunity to shape innovative, customer-focused products within a market-leading organisation—while growing your career across the business. Line Management across the Full Stack team and dotted line management across the wider Technical and Support teams in the office.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions
  • Own end-to-end integration and interoperability across platforms
  • Champion best practices, tools, and continuous improvement
  • Stay hands-on with development and technical problem-solving
  • Mentor and empower engineers to perform at their best
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and smooth delivery of projects

Experience

  • 4+ years building production applications with JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Strong experience with Java, J2EE, and relational databases
  • 2+ years in a Technical Lead (or similar) role (leading a team)
  • Experience delivering cloud-native solutions in AWS (including CDK)
  • Solid knowledge of CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and modern DevOps practices
  • Strong understanding of secure, scalable system design
  • Passion for mentoring, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
