Location: London (Hybrid) Type: Contract Compensation: Up to £750 per day
We’re working with a leading global financial organisation looking to hire an experienced Backend Engineer to join a high-performing technology team specialising in risk platforms. This role offers the chance to design and build scalable systems that power critical risk data and analytics by tackling complex engineering challenges in a fast-paced environment.
About the Role
- Develop scalable backend applications using Java or Python.
- Build, deploy, and maintain distributed services for risk data processing and analytics.
- Work closely with engineering and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions.
- Optimise performance, reliability, and scalability across enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend systems in Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python.
- Develop and maintain distributed services, microservices, or enterprise platforms within a financial risk technology context.
- Collaborate with teams to refine system architecture and ensure robust technical solutions.
- Drive improvements in system performance, data processing, and analytics capabilities.
- Stay updated with modern software engineering practices and emerging technologies.

Experience & Requirements
- Proven commercial experience with Java (Spring Boot) and/or Python.
- Strong background in distributed systems or microservices within an enterprise environment.
- Familiarity with risk technology, risk data, or financial analytics desirable.
- Solid understanding of system design, data processing, and software engineering best practices.
