Joint Community Rehabilitation Service – JCR Support Worker

Are you ready for a fresh challenge and to make the move to the Joint Community Rehabilitation Service? Help Sue regain her confidence after injuring her hip and enable her to walk her dog, Daisy, to the local park once again.

We support individuals like Sue to achieve their personal goals, whether that’s mobility, independence, or adjustment to new routines. As part of our Joint Community Rehabilitation service, we assist older adults recovering from illness or injury to regain independence at home.

Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to help clients regain skills through personal care, therapy exercises, and emotional support—empowering them to manage daily tasks confidently.

About the Role

As a JCR Support Worker, you’ll work with a diverse caseload to support individuals in reclaiming independence within the community.


Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients and their advocates to facilitate meaningful recovery.
  • Provide perceived care, therapeutic support, and emotional reassurance.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment across Eastbourne, Hailsham, and Seaford.
  • Engage professionally with teams to deliver personalised care plans.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Ability to converse naturally and empathetically with clients and carers.
  • Patience and understanding when delivering tailored support.
  • Strong ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid UK driving licence with reliable access to a car (travel is essential for this role).

Preferred Experience

  • Experience or interest in health & social care, rehabilitation or community support.
  • Interest in apprenticeship training (entry to degree level).

Contract & Benefit Details

  • Permanent contracts available: 6–30 hours per week.
  • Apprenticeships (24–30 hours) for vocational training (qualifications from level 2–degree level).
  • Weekend-only contracts (6–24 hours).
  • Salary:
    • £26,824–£27,254 p.a. (£13.90–£14.13/hr), pro-rata for part-time roles.
    • Full-time equivalent terms apply for permanent roles.

Shift Details

  • 7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, including weekends and bank holidays.
