Jet Vac Driver

Description
The Jet Vac Driver / Operator is responsible for operating Jet Vacuum Tankers and high-pressure water jetting equipment to safely clean, clear and maintain drainage networks, sewers, gullies, interceptors, tanks, and related infrastructure. The role supports both planned and reactive works, ensuring high-quality service delivery, compliance with health & safety, and excellent customer communication.
We are currently recruiting for 2 of our sites:
- Irish Waste, 94-96 Hillsborough Road, Carryduff, BT8 8HT.
- ENVA, 3P Red Brae Industrial Estate, The Temple, Drumalig Road, Lisburn, BT27 6UD.
Please note that we are holding interviews on Thursday 30th April onsite in our Temple office.
Key Responsibilities

Operate Jet Vac / Vacuum Tankers for:
- Sewer line cleansing, drain clearance and blockage removal.
- High-pressure water jetting to restore flow.
- Gully emptying, tank cleaning, wet well and pump station cleanses.
- Waste extraction and disposal at licensed sites, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.

Perform daily vehicle checks, minor maintenance, fluid levels, equipment cleaning and readiness.

Complete duty of care paperwork, service reports, job sheets and digital documentation.

Set up safe working zones and comply with RAMS and company health & safety procedures.

Participate in reactive/emergency works, operating efficiently and professionally under pressure.

Work collaboratively with CCTV drainage teams and other operational crews.

Support overtime, on-call rotas, occasional night/weekend shifts as operationally required.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
- HGV Class 2 (Category C) Licence
- Driver CPC & Tachograph Card
- Experience in drainage, jetting or environmental services (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of drainage systems and safe systems of work / RAMS.
- Strong communication, teamwork and customer service skills
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Physically fit for manual handling tasks.
- Flexible to cover on-call, overtime and emergency works
Desirable
- High Pressure Water Jetting (WJA) Certification
- CSCS Card.
- Streetworks, EUSR Clean Water, SHEA Card
- Prior Jet Vac or tanker operating experience.
- Basic IT competence for digital reporting.

Working Conditions
Full-time operational role with requirement for travel between sites. Outdoor work including confined spaces, drainage areas, and weather exposed conditions. Participation in call-out rota and occasional nights/weekend work.
