Become our new JETS administration and clerical management lead for the Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy (JAG)

JAG Endoscopy has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to become our new JETS administration and clerical management lead, providing forward-thinking and expert leadership for the administration and clerical training competency framework.

This dynamic individual will collaborate closely with the JAG programme manager (data and training) and the JAG training group chair to drive excellence in endoscopy administrative workforce to ensure that the administrative workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge to do their jobs and to support greater efficiency in endoscopy booking and scheduling.

Your Main Areas Of Responsibility Will Be To

  • lead on the provision of expert advice relating to administration and clerical matters
  • assist the development of the JETS administration and clerical training framework
  • develop a quality assurance framework for this training programme
  • collaborate with the JAG senior leadership accreditation team

The appointment is for 1 year in the first instance, with a possible extension of 1 year, funded at £3,000 per year reimbursable to the individual’s NHS trust for 1 day per month (on average).

  • Proven leadership experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably within a healthcare or clinical setting
  • Strong understanding of healthcare management structures and systems
  • Previous involvement in endoscopy services and service improvement initiatives
  • At least 5 years’ experience in leading an admin and clerical team in endoscopy, GI or cancer service, or previous experience in quality improvement work in endoscopy

JAG is a programme from the Royal College of Physicians which empowers endoscopy services to improve care for their patients. JAG does this through three main workstreams:

  • Supporting service improvement through accreditation
  • Supporting development of the workforce by enabling the delivery of high-quality training
  • Enabling research into endoscopy practice through the National Endoscopy Database and our research projects.
