The Opportunity

We have an exciting new role within Severn Trent’s Complex Waste Customer Networks team based in the Shropshire region from our Shelton site.

This team is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repairs, and improvements of our waste network.

JetVac Operative Role

You’ll work as part of a two-person team, resolving various customer issues to deliver exceptional service—especially when it counts.

Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Resolving blocked sewers and network issues using vacuum, jetting and blockage-clearing equipment.
  • Operating in a shift pattern, including 1 in 6 weekends and a callout/standby rota.

Other key tasks may involve:

  • Conducting in-depth surveys of drainage systems to diagnose problems and determine the best solutions (including high-risk work and confined space entry).
  • Collaborating with control centre, operations, and maintenance teams.
  • Working in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Operating company vehicles in compliance with road transport legislation.
  • Ensuring vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and well-maintained (internally and externally).

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
