Jira Platform Engineer
VoCoVo specialises in innovative communication solutions tailored for businesses, particularly within the retail sector. Our flagship products are designed to create a connected store experience, facilitating seamless communication among retail staff to enhance efficiency and elevate customer service. We empower teams to collaborate effortlessly and achieve their retail goals. You’ve probably already seen us in action, we’re trusted by Tesco, Asda, Dunelm and Iceland, just to name a few. With over 250,000 users across more than 10,000 locations in 21+ countries, and recognition as one of the top 100 best small-to-medium size businesses to work for, join us on our journey! Role Overview As Jira Platform Engineer you will build, implement and take ownership of our enterprise-wide Jira platform. This role is largely hands-on, you will work with an agreed architectural design in order to deliver the solution end-to-end, including workflows, data models, automations, integrations and APIs. You'll play a key role in implementation, but also in the ongoing ownership, governance, optimisation and continuous improvement of the platform once live. You'll be comfortable working across the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira, Jira Service Management, Jira Work Management and Jira Assets, creating a scalable, integrated platform that supports teams across VoCoVo. A critical element of this role will focus upon the design and build of integrations with external systems (such as HubSpot) using APIs, helping establish Jira as a central operational platform and trusted source of truth. The successful candidate will also support the onboarding of teams and help embed new ways of working across VoCoVo, ensuring the platform delivers long-term value and adoption. Please note, this is an 8 month fixed term contract, to apply for this position you must be based in the UK and have the legal right to work in the UK. This is a remote first position with travel required to our Oxfordshire (Shipton-under-Wychwood) or Cheltenham offices for ad-hoc meetings or team meet-ups. What we're looking for Deep hands-on experience building and configuring Jira platforms from the ground up, beyond day-to-day administration of existing environments. Experience across the Atlassian ecosystem, including Jira Service Management (JSM), Jira Work Management (JWM), Jira Assets and related plugins/tools. You've previously built and scaled Jira as an enterprise-wide platform across multiple business functions. Experience in the design and implementation of integrations and APIs, particularly with external systems such as CRM, ERP or WMS platforms. Strong experience integrating Jira with platforms such as HubSpot or similar business systems. An excellent understanding of data architecture, relational linking and scalable system design principles. Experience using advanced Atlassian tooling and plugins such as ScriptRunner, Automation and Assets/Insight. You've successfully implemented governance, standards and control frameworks within Jira environments. You have the ability to take architectural designs and translate them into scalable, robust, real-world solutions. The ability to onboard teams and drive adoption of new tools, processes and ways of working. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to work confidently across both technical and non-technical teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
