Assistant Boutique Manager

Description

We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to play a leading role in the success of the store/counter by supporting the Store Manager to lead, coach and develop our team of Sales Associates to achieve all sales, customer service and operational targets.

Candidates should have:

  • Proven supervisory, coaching and retail operations skills gained in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Ambitious, high-performing self-starter with a flair for retail

Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Deliver exceptional customer service across our boutique
  • Maximise sales performance and productivity
  • Team management, including support to our Senior Stylist(s)
  • Effective communication both internally and across the department store
  • Create, organise and execute in-store events (e.g., fragrance experiences, events, workshops)
  • Efficiently manage stock and inventory to maintain service standards
  • Ensure alignment with Boutique and Brand vision
  • Support the Boutique Manager in all operational aspects and step in during their absence
  • Drive an omni-channel approach within the business
  • Complete administrative tasks promptly to high standards
  • Monitor competitor activity

As the Assistant Boutique Manager, you’ll:

  • Elevate events and maximise their commercial success
  • Uphold store operational excellence
  • Represent the Jo Malone London lifestyle and The World of Jo Malone London™ to customers and partners, including hosting unique in-store activities (hand and arm massages, consultations, artistic collaborations, and lifestyle events)

  • Track record of leading a team to sales and service objectives
  • Expertise in inventory, cash reconciliation, and admin tasks
  • Hands-on with staff scheduling, training, and business plan initiatives
  • Exceptional event creation and execution skills
  • Experienced in Jo Malone London’s POS systems

Dedication & Availability:

  • Committed to retail workload responsibilities (covering days, nights, weekends, and special events)

Qualifications

  • Proven retail experience (preferably in cosmetics or beauty)
  • Expertise in customer service with calibre for inspiration and authentic personalisation
  • Proven track record in team coaching, mentoring, and goal achievement (sales and service)
  • Retail operations expertise (inventory, cash, stock, POS software)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to provide the necessary legal documents (e.g., right-to-work certification) upon interview
