Assistant Boutique Manager
About the Role
We are seeking an inspirational and dynamic Assistant Store Manager to play a leading role in the success of the store/counter by supporting the Store Manager to:
- Lead, coach, and develop our team of Sales Associates
- Achieve all sales, customer service, and operational targets
Candidates should have:
- Proven supervisory, coaching, and retail operations skills
- Experience in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ambition, a high-performance mindset, and a passion for retail and coaching

Responsibilities
Key Duties
- Support Store Manager in running and bringing the Jo Malone London boutique to life
- Host customers globally, showcasing The World of Jo Malone London™ via creative services
- Fragrant massages
- Wedding consultations
- Event hosting (e.g., floral crowns, graffiti artists, chocolate tastings, cocktail classes)
- Deliver exceptional customer service—a gracious, knowledgeable steward meeting every welcome
- Maximise sales performance and productivity
- Team management (coaching and mentoring others)
- Communicate effectively across all levels of the store
- Build relationships with the department store and wider corporate teams
- Execute in-store events creatively and effectively
- Maintain boutique operations (stock, inventory, high VM standards)
- Handle administrative tasks promptly and prevalently
- Monitor and respond to competitor activity to drive an omni-channel approach

Administration & Compliance
- Support administrative tasks as needed
- Work flexible hours (days, nights, weekends, special events)
Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Proven retail experience, preferably in cosmetics or luxury hospitality
- Skilled in inspirational, authentic, and personalised customer service
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience, with a track record of achieving targets
- Proficiency in:
- Retail operations (inventory management, cash reconciliation)
- Retail point-of-sale software
- Microsoft Office tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet scheduling demands
- Proof of right to live and work in the country if invited for an interview
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in event coordination or boutique hospitality
- Business planning skills (target-setting, sales analysis, team scheduling)
