About The Role
Harrogate College are recruiting for a Job Coach for Supported Internships to join our team.
The Job Coach will be responsible for supporting learners with SEND in Harrogate College's Supported Internship programme.
You will develop the confidence and work-related skills of students wishing to make their next move out of college and into paid employment.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality service delivery, building strong relationships with employers and external agencies, and ultimately, empowering students to achieve their career goals.
Please note, this is a reduced year 37 week contract. The pro rata'd salary is £22,677 with progression to £23,248.
What You Will Do
- Undertake training prior to the beginning of the Internship.
- Provide on-going support in the workplace as required.
- Liaise with internal and external agencies/services/employers to provide useful support and opportunities for the student.
- Support students in and out of class to attend interviews for permanent jobs.
- Represent Supported Internships at events.
- Work closely with the central SEND team and contribute to EHCP reviews meetings and ensure progress reviews and checkpoints are completed.
About You
- English and Mathematics at Level 2 or above and a willingness to improve in one or both disciplines to level 3 or above.
- Experience of working with learners with SEND.
- Good knowledge of Equality legislation and the rights of disabled individuals within the workplace.
- Relevant up to date subject knowledge.
- Relevant experience, knowledge and understanding of working in the Sector.

Harrogate College has excellent facilities and provides a professional and friendly environment. We have recently been awarded £16m of government funding to transform our campus. The energy-efficient new building will include a workshop unit that provides large scale facilities aligned to industry needs including advanced manufacturing, low carbon construction, retrofit, sustainable energy and bioeconomy, health science and hospitality. This will complement the college’s existing tech centre which is home to its motor vehicle, electrical, joinery and welding workshops.
