Black South West Network (BSWN) is a Black-led organization that advances race equality across the South West of England. The organization’s mission is to be a driving force for racial equality locally and nationally by amplifying the agency and voice of Black and minoritized communities. BSWN leverages robust research, lived experience, and community knowledge to influence decision-making and policy. Through this work, BSWN supports the growth of economic and social capital in Black and minoritized communities and contributes to building a more equitable and prosperous society for everyone. Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bristol Area, United Kingdom. The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues and partners to support BSWN’s projects and services, contributing to activities that advance race equality and community empowerment. - Conducting or supporting research and data collection
- Engaging with community members and stakeholders
- Preparing reports or presentations
- Assisting with events, workshops, or outreach initiatives
- Maintaining accurate records
- Supporting internal communications
- Contributing to the planning and delivery of programs aligned with BSWN’s mission

The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team to ensure that projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with organizational values.
Qualifications
- Ability to conduct and interpret research, analyze information, and present findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentation preparation, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience in community engagement, partnership working, or outreach within diverse or minoritized communities.
- Organizational and project support skills, including planning, time management, and attention to detail.
- Understanding of race equality, social justice, and issues affecting Black and minoritized communities in the UK.
- Ability to work effectively on-site in a collaborative team environment and build positive working relationships.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and comfort with digital tools.
- Relevant education or equivalent experience in fields such as social sciences, community development, public policy, or related areas.
- Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory practice and alignment with BSWN’s mission and values.
- Experience in the charity, community, or public sector is beneficial but not essential.
