Electrical General Superintendent – Talent Community (Utility-Scale Solar Construction)

About the Role

Power the future of clean energy—right now, we aren’t hiring for this role, but we’re always looking for strategic builders, coaches, and innovators passionate about utility-scale solar construction. Key Responsibilities

When the right project opens, you’ll typically:

Construction Leadership

  • Champion safe, high-quality, and efficient construction methods across all phases:

    • Engineering
    • Planning
    • Start-up
    • Execution
    • Closeouts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and coach for:

    • Superintendents
    • General Foremen
    • Field teams
  • Develop and refine standardized work plans and best practices for solar EPC delivery.

Field Oversight & Training

  • Work side-by-side with site leadership to ensure:

    • Consistent execution
    • Professional development of field teams
  • Support pre-construction planning for:

    • Labor allocation
    • Equipment logistics
    • Material coordination
  • Ensure adherence to:

    • Design specifications
    • Safety protocols
    • Quality standards

Collaboration & Improvement

  • Partner with:

    • Estimating
    • Business Development
    • Site Managers -Align strategy and execution while providing feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support site staffing, licensing, and public engagement as required.

What We Look For

Experience & Expertise

  • 10+ years in utility-scale solar construction, with a focus on electrical systems.
  • Proven track record in leadership, mentoring, and training for diverse field teams.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Construction methods
    • Tools and equipment
    • Drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Experience with job costing and project planning.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Physical & Compliance Requirements

  • Willing to travel extensively (75% of the time) and work weekly on-site.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record (MVR).
  • Proficient in interpreting blueprints, permits, and compliance documentation.

Physical Demands & Safety Compliance

  • Must comply with client safety requirements (e.g., clean-shaven, long sleeves, steel-toe boots).
  • Requires passing a physical exam if needed.
  • Capable of:
    • Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolding, or stairways.
    • Stooping, kneeling, crawling, or working in heights or confined spaces (e.g., towers, vessels).
    • Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. (use assistance for heavier loads).
    • Standing/walking for extended periods on uneven surfaces (dirt, concrete, asphalt, mud, gravel).
    • Wearing a respirator and other PPE as required.

Work Environment

Physical hazards include:

  • Uneven ground
  • Obstructed pathways
  • Low/high elevations & confined spaces

Exposure to:

  • Extreme heat/cold
  • Humidity, rain, and variable weather
  • Loud machinery noise
  • Potential chemical exposure
