Role Overview
Carry out repairs, maintenance, and installation work within social housing properties. The role involves working in both occupied and void properties, delivering high-quality joinery services while maintaining excellent standards of customer care, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive repairs, planned works, and void refurbishments within social housing properties
- Install, repair, and maintain items including doors, frames, locks, windows, kitchens, flooring, skirting boards, and staircases
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard, in line with specifications and relevant building regulations
- Accurately diagnose faults and determine appropriate repair solutions
- Complete works in a “right-first-time” approach where possible
- Work respectfully and professionally in tenants’ homes, ensuring minimal disruption
- Communicate clearly with residents regarding work requirements and timescales
- Demonstrate awareness of asbestos regulations and work safely in older properties
- Accurately complete job reports, works orders, and any associated paperwork or digital records
- Report follow-on works, defects, or H&S concerns promptly
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and recognise potential vulnerabilities in tenants

Skills & Experience
- Proven practical experience as a Joiner / Carpenter, ideally within social housing or domestic maintenance
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Carpentry & Joinery, or equivalent practical experience (desirable)
- Asbestos Awareness training (desirable)
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Willingness to undertake a DBS check
