About the Role

We’re seeking a joiner to join our expanding Onward Repairs team, delivering property maintenance services to our customers across the Northwest. This role involves executing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks, primarily within homes and void properties, ensuring high standards and compliance with legal/regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality repair solutions at a cost-effective price while maintaining group standards and performance targets.
    • Assessing/trading and organising cost-efficient materials.
    • Coordinating tailored repair plans and effective communication with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.
    • Ensuring tools/materials are readily available to site teams.
    • Optimising workload to balance efficiency and quality.

  • Customer Service:

    • Providing responsive, high-standard repairs on time.
    • Liaising with customers on access, safety, and defect assessments.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring repairs meet excellence standards.

  • Records Management:

    • Logging jobs via PDA (handheld equipment) and maintaining documentation (e.g., access details, materials, work progression, follow-ups).
  • Health & Safety:

    • Full compliance with legal health and safety requirements.
    • Operating machinery/plants with strict safety adherence (including powered hand tools and company vehicles).
  • Standby Service: Participation in roта-based ‘out-of-hours’ work (evenings/weekends), remunerated additionally.


Key Responsibilities (Detailed)

Delivery

  • Research, assess, and implement affordable repair solutions aligned with Onward’s standards.
  • Coordinate materials, storage, and access for field teams.
  • Develop efficient schedules for optimal service delivery.

Customer Liasion & Technical Support

  • Engage warmly with internal/external customers (technical sales, service appointments, progress reviews).
  • Assess repair scope via physical inspections.

Quality Control

  • Conduct end-to-end inspection of completed work to confirm satisfactory outcomes.

Compliance & Governance

  • Update digital records on completed jobs (details, timelines, materials used).
  • No additional risk/negotiation workaround required—focus is on adherence and continuity.


Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

|- |✅ NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in joinery with relevant work history. |✅ Valid UK driving licence (operating company vehicles). |✅ Hands-on construction/building trades expertise (includes scaffold knowledge, essential tools). |✅ NVQ in Job Preparation, Planning & Execution (CSCS card required). |✅ Knowledge of health & safety (HASAWA 1974, COSHH, PPE), operational best practices.
