About the Role
Step into an integral role within the Women’s Design team at Joules Head Office. This is a full-time position based at The Barn—Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, and this is an onsite role.

Located in Market Harborough, Leicestershire, Joules began here in 1989. This charming market town houses the brand’s Head Office, surrounded by independent shops, bars, and restaurants. It also offers strong transport connectivity to London, making it easily accessible for both visitors and commuters.
What You’ll Do
Your main responsibility is to support the design development of wovens, shirts, and blouses within the Women’s Design team. Key tasks include:
- Assisting the Designer/Senior Designer in developing, progressing, and managing a profitable collection across stores and e-commerce.
- Preparing for design meetings, including:
- Researching and progressing product lines.
- Developing mood and research boards.
- Racking up samples for review.
- Driving seasonal trends and ensuring alignment with consumer demand.
- Contributing to decision-making through inspirational imagery and samples.
- Preparing and delivering seasonal Touch Point and CAD presentations for specific collections.
- Taking ownership of Commodity and Capsule updates.
- Analysing weekly line performance reports to inform departmental trade meetings.
- Collaborating with Merchandising to inform future product development, seeking clarity where needed.
- Attending sign-off meetings with senior management for approvals.
- Participating in fit sessions to ensure accuracy in:
- Artwork design.
- Garment fit and detailing.
- Proactively gathering research and inspiration from sources such as:
- Competitor shops.
- Fashion blogs and trend reports.
- Ensuring samples, CADs, and buyer briefs are ready with all required information.

What You’ll Bring
To excel as a Junior Designer, you must demonstrate:
- Fashion design expertise: A degree or equivalent qualification in Fashion Garment Design.
- Hands-on experience in a similar role, including work within a:
- Design room (for a supplier or retailer).
- Technical knowledge in:
- Embellishments and embroidery.
- Creating design packs and BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- CAD (digital design, Adobe Illustrator).
- Technical garment and fabric construction.
- Commercial awareness, with a clear understanding of:
- Joules’ brand and customer lifestyle.
- Soft skills embodying:
- Accountability and ownership.
- A proactive, generative and spirited attitude.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- An ability to think beyond the role.
