Role Description
This full-time, on-site Traffic Management Operative role is based in Liverpool and involves supporting the safe flow of vehicles and pedestrians around worksites and events. Day-to-day tasks include setting out, maintaining, and removing traffic management systems such as cones, barriers, signage, and temporary lights in line with approved plans and regulations. The role also involves monitoring traffic conditions, responding to changes on-site, and communicating clearly with supervisors, colleagues, and clients. The Traffic Management Operative is expected to follow all health and safety guidelines, perform basic equipment checks, and complete necessary documentation or reports. The position may require working varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional night shifts, depending on project needs.

- Practical experience or training in traffic management, highways, construction, or a related field, with the ability to interpret traffic management plans.
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices, including working safely on or near highways and using personal protective equipment correctly.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to follow instructions, coordinate with site teams, and interact professionally with the public and clients.
- Basic problem-solving and situational awareness skills to assess conditions on-site, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate action.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks such as lifting, carrying, and positioning equipment over extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
- Valid UK driving license and reliable transport are highly beneficial; relevant traffic management or highways certifications (e.g., LANTRA or equivalent) are an advantage.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and undertake additional training or qualifications as required by Motion Safe and regulatory standards.
