About the Role
We are a fast-growing, technology-led accountancy firm supporting sole traders and CIS subcontractors across the UK. This is a client-facing Junior Accountant role where you will manage relationships, support clients with their financial and tax matters, and deliver a high-quality, responsive service.
You’ll work closely with experienced accountants in a collaborative environment, with strong support, ongoing training, and clear opportunities for career development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Manage a portfolio of sole trader and CIS clients
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through phone, email, and video communication
- Handle inbound and outbound client queries, providing clear and timely support
- Prepare and review Self Assessment tax returns accurately and efficiently
- Support clients with accounting, tax, and general business queries
- Explain financial information and tax obligations in a clear, easy-to-understand way
- Assist clients in using accounting systems and digital tools
- Review financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Identify opportunities for tax efficiencies and discuss incorporation where appropriate
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver a high standard of service
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Take ownership of client satisfaction, service delivery, and turnaround times

We’d Love To Hear From Someone That
- Has strong communication skills and is confident engaging with clients
- Enjoys building relationships and providing a high level of customer service
- Is comfortable explaining financial and tax concepts in plain English
- Has a good understanding of accounting principles
- Has strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Can manage their workload effectively and meet deadlines
- Is confident using systems and technology
- Is proactive, motivated, and keen to learn
- Can work both independently and as part of a team

It’s a Plus If You Also Have
- Experience in an accountancy practice
- Exposure to sole traders, CIS subcontractors, or small business clients
- Experience preparing Self Assessment tax returns
- Knowledge of cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent)
- Studying towards or holding an AAT or similar qualification
