About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team. This role is ideal for recent graduates and early-career professionals looking to build a career in accounting and finance.
As a Junior Accounts Assistant, you will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business by assisting with transaction processing, reconciliations, financial record maintenance, and reporting. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will gain valuable practical experience in accounting processes and financial administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices, expense claims, and payment requests.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
- Assist with preparing financial reports and spreadsheets.
- Process customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain accounting records in finance systems.
- Support audits by preparing financial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team.
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Basic understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Internship, placement, or academic project experience in finance or accounting.
- Working towards or interested in pursuing AAT, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualifications.
- Knowledge of VAT and basic financial reporting concepts is advantageous.
