We are an innovative MedTech company developing AI-powered technologies that are transforming patient care, diagnostics, and clinical decision-making. As we continue to invest in artificial intelligence and machine learning, we are looking to expand our engineering team with the addition of a Junior AI Engineer.

We are looking to hire a Junior AI Engineer with a passion for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career engineer to work alongside experienced AI and software engineering professionals, developing intelligent solutions that have a real impact within the healthcare sector.

The Junior AI Engineer MUST have:

  • A degree qualification (2:1 or above preferred) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Biomedical Engineering, or another STEM discipline
  • Strong programming skills in Python
  • A genuine interest in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Generative AI
  • Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and model development
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • A willingness to learn and develop within a collaborative engineering environment

The Junior AI Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:

  • Experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Scikit-learn
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) and prompt engineering concepts
  • Experience working with Git and version control systems
  • Knowledge of SQL and working with structured datasets
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP would be beneficial
  • Understanding of APIs and software integration principles
  • Experience with computer vision, NLP, or healthcare datasets would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of medical device software standards or regulated environments would be beneficial
  • A passion for emerging AI technologies and continuous learning

The Junior AI Engineer role will involve:

  • Supporting the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered applications
  • Building and testing machine learning models using real-world healthcare data
  • Preparing, cleaning, and analysing datasets for model training and evaluation
  • Collaborating with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to deliver AI solutions
  • Researching and evaluating new AI techniques and technologies
  • Assisting with the deployment, monitoring, and optimisation of machine learning models
  • Contributing to technical documentation and following software development best practices
