Junior Analyst
Senior Research Analyst (Protein Producer Index & Seafood Index) – Research & Data FAIRR Initiative
### About the Role
We are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented team player to join FAIRR’s Research and Data (R&D) team. In this role, you will drive company-level research across our Protein Producer Index (PPI) and Seafood Index (SI).
Our data-driven benchmarks help market participants understand how companies are positioned to manage risks and opportunities within global food systems. This includes:
- Owning a portfolio of companies for analysis.
- Collaborating with FAIRR’s subject-matter experts to develop sector and thematic insights.
- Feeding into product development for our benchmarks.
### Key Responsibilities
▪ ESG Data Analysis
- Gather and analyse publicly available data on companies, applying FAIRR’s methodology with precision.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and internal compliance with quality standards.
▪ Identification of ESG Risks, Opportunities & Trends
- Translate raw data into actionable insights for companies, identifying:
- Emerging risks
- Sustainability opportunities
- Progress on food system goals
- Deliver structured outputs, including:
- Summaries
- Data-driven reports
- Robust, well-evidenced briefing notes
▪ Company Dialogue
- Lead constructive engagement with companies, clarifying:
- Research processes
- Timelines
- Methodologies
- Findings
▪ Company Monitoring
- Proactively track portfolio companies outside research cycles to:
- Monitor strategic changes
- Flag new initiatives
- Identify emerging risks and controversies
▪ Stakeholder Support
- Act as a key contact for:
- Investor members
- Media
- External stakeholders
▪ Expertise Development
- Continuously deepen your insights into:
- Global food systems
- FAIRR’s research methodologies

▪ Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with FAIRR teams (e.g., Outreach, Products & Analytics, Communications) to:
- Respond to research requests
- Support investor/corporate engagement
- Prepare briefings, documents
### Essential Criteria
- Passionate about sustainability and keen to explore systemic risks/opportunities in terrestrial/marine food systems.
- Exceptional analytical skills—excelling in quantitative and qualitative reasoning to draw conclusions.
- Commitment to rigour—able to:
- Focus on small details
- Prioritise accuracy, thoroughness, and consistency
- Handle sensitive company data with discretion
- Exceptional communication—expertise in:
- Conveying complex concepts clearly
- Intervention with diverse stakeholders
- Written and spoken English fluency
- Strong organisational skills, including:
- Time management and deadline adherence
- Output-focused manner
### Desirable Criteria
▪ Prior Experience
- Demonstrated interest in sustainable finance, food systems, or ESG themes.
- Familiarity with frameworks like:
- GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
- SASB ( Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)
- TCFD (Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures)
- UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
▪ Technical Knowledge
- Experience with ESG ratings/databases (e.g., Bloomberg ESG, MSCI ESG, Sustainalytics).
- Proficiency in financial platforms:
- Bloomberg
- Capital IQ to source data such as:
- Filings
- Ownership structures
- Documentation
