Description
Reports to: System Implementation Lead
Location: Nottingham
Working hours: 37.5 hours per week
We are seeking a motivated Junior Automation Developer to join our growing automation team. This role is perfect for a recent graduate or someone early in their career who is eager to work with cutting-edge automation technologies and contribute to transforming business processes. You will assist in designing, building, and maintaining automation solutions across our business systems.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll be doing:
Technical Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of RPA solutions using UiPath, Blue Prism, Power Automate, or similar platforms.
- Collaborate with senior developers to test, deploy, and troubleshoot automation workflows.
- Support integration of bots and automation solutions with existing systems and applications.
- Document automation solutions and maintain clear version control of all scripts and workflows.
- Learn and implement coding/scripting best practices (Python, PHP, SQL or similar).

Business & Process Responsibilities
- Work with business teams to understand workflows and identify opportunities for automation.
- Support process mapping and business requirement gathering under guidance from senior staff.
- Assist in translating business requirements into functional automation solutions.
Learning & Development
- Gain vendor certifications (UiPath RPA Associate, Power Platform Fundamentals, Blue Prism Developer).
- Develop technical skills to handle increasingly complex automation tasks.
- Participate in workshops, code reviews, and team knowledge-sharing sessions.

Technical Skills
- Basic programming or scripting knowledge (Python, PHP, .NET, or similar).
- Familiarity with automation tools (UiPath, Power Automate, Blue Prism, or equivalent) is strongly desirable.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Soft Skills
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work collaboratively with business and technical teams.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Experience within the UK energy industry is advantageous.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or other relevant accreditation/experience.
- Internship or project experience in automation, programming, or business systems is advantageous.
