About Us
PA Media is the UK and Ireland's trusted national news agency, delivering 24/7 multimedia journalism and content to newsrooms, publishers and platforms around the world.
Our Video team plays a vital role in that mission, providing reliable live video services and broadcast solutions to customers, partners and audiences across the globe. As demand for live and streamed content continues to grow, we are investing in our technical capabilities to support the next generation of broadcast services.
About The Role
We're excited to be creating a brand-new Junior Broadcast Engineer position within our Live Video team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a passion for technology, networking and broadcast systems who is looking to develop their career in a fast-paced media environment. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, supporting the systems, infrastructure and connectivity that underpin PA's live video services.
Whilst previous broadcast experience would be advantageous, it isn't essential. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in IT, networking or technical support who are eager to learn and develop new skills within broadcasting.
The role is based in our Paddington office, where the expectation is that you'll be present approximately three days per week, alongside occasional attendance at client sites and editorial events as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
