Junior Buyer
Head of Product Development (Buyer) – Global

Responsibilities
- Leadership in product lifecycle management, from sourcing to production. Goals include maintaining precision, quality, and cost control while driving excellence.
- Collaborate: Work closely with in-house design and sales teams to refine product concepts, strategize projects, and champion innovation.
- Supplier management: Negotiate partnerships with trusted suppliers in the Far East and Europe, securing competitive pricing, ensuring product integrity, and maintaining punctual delivery. Actively explore new supply routes to diversify offerings while mitigating risks.
- Budget accountability: Optimise pricing and budgets to prevent extrapanisations, guaranteeing adherence to financial targets.
- Documentation: Develop detailed product specifications and purchase orders to align suppliers with clarity and project milestones.
- Cross-department coordination: Ensure seamless project delivery across teams to hit critical deadlines.
- Quality assurance: Enforce rigorous quality control and technical compliance, ensuring products meet industry standards.

Requirements
Brand Addition is seeking a Product Development Buyer with a meticulous, analytical mindset to:
- Education: Ideally graduate-level qualified (or equivalent) in a related field.
- Experience: Hold a can-do attitude, thriving on diverse tasks and challenges. 2–5+ years’ experience in captive/bulk buying is essential.
- Subject-matter expertise: Show a passion for consumer/promotional products, with a focus on quality assurance and ethical sourcing from manufacturers in the UK, EU, Turkey, and the Far East.
- Commercial acumen: Think strategically, assess risks, and make data-driven decisions to navigate the broader business picture.
- ** Communicate effectively** (written and verbal), with transparency and diplomacy.
- Collaborate as a team leader: Instil empathy, innovation, and a drive to succeed while demonstrating interpersonal maturity.
- Organisational excellence: Maintain meticulous attention to detail in multitasking under tight deadlines.
- Client-advocacy: Delve deeply into brand requirements, attend relevant client meetings, and integrate seamlessly with internal teams.
- Product development leanings: Cultivate visions across multiple ranges, proactively suggesting enhancements that resonate with market trends and ethical values.
- Supplier negotiation: Excel in constructing long-term, mutually beneficial supplier partnerships.
- Risk management: Cultivate a judicious understanding of commercial risks and operational resilience.
