Job Description
As a Junior Buyer at COS, you support the buying process by selecting relevant products that reflect our brand and meet customer needs. You contribute to sales and profitability by developing a strong understanding of timing, fashion relevance, and commercial impact, while making informed buying decisions. Within the womenswear team, you support the execution of product development with a clear understanding of COS aesthetics and our target customer. Through structured and efficient component and product development, you contribute to meaningful growth and help build the best assortment. You work collaboratively with the Pattern, Design, Product, Material, and Supply Chain teams to ensure a cohesive and commercially strong offer.
What you will do:
- Support the creation of a commercial and customer-relevant assortment, contributing to product, component, colour, and material development in line with COS aesthetics and department strategy.
- Support the planning, analysis, and delivery of efficient component and product development, ensuring alignment with timelines, profitability, purpose, and sustainability goals, including sample handling and bookings.
- Monitor sales, customer behaviour, and market trends, sharing insights and supporting pricing and product decisions based on value drivers (price, material, and look).
- Work closely with Buying, Design, Pattern, Product, Production, Supply Chain, and Buying Controllers to ensure aligned targets, efficient workflows, and delivery against short- and long-term goals.
- Support and inspire Assistant Buyers, contribute to an inclusive team environment, and take ownership of personal learning while continuously improving ways of working.

In addition, we are looking for:
- Experience as a Junior Buyer or similar level, ideally within soft wovens, and a solid understanding of the end-to-end buying process.
- Strong knowledge and of product and component development, with the ability to work closely with in-house Design to translate concepts into commercially viable products.
- Well-developed commercial awareness, with the ability to interpret customer needs, market trends, and sales performance to inform decisions.
- Confident in analysing data, evaluating product performance, and supporting pricing decisions to drive profitability.
- A strong sense of trend awareness, with a fashion-forward mindset and a high taste level, able to identify relevant styles and translate them into a clear, commercial offer.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build effective cross-functional relationships across Buying, Design, Production, and Supply Chain.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, alongside a proactive mindset and a passion for fashion and sustainability.

This is a full-time permanent role based at our Head Office in London.
