Junior Buyer / Procurement Officer
Exciting opportunity within a rapidly expanding international FMCG business
Are you a hands-on procurement professional based in the UK, looking for a role where you can help build a supply chain function from the ground up within a fast-growing international FMCG business? We are recruiting a Junior Buyer / Procurement Officer for our client—the UK subsidiary of a global food brand expanding rapidly across Europe.
Key Responsibilities
Intercompany Procurement
- Own the purchasing process for product orders placed with the overseas manufacturing entity
- Ensure orders comply with global supply agreements, HQ allocation decisions, and supply chain planning requirements
- Issue and track orders to guarantee accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to commercial/operational parameters
- Continuously monitor supply risks and implement proactive solutions to prevent order or delivery failures
Purchase Order Process & ERP Administration
- Execute the full procurement cycle—from order creation to receipt and confirmation—while maintaining accurate SAP records
- Issue and verify purchase orders while ensuring all documentation is correct and complete
- Maintain a robust audit trail of procurement activities

Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as a single point of contact for internal teams (sales, logistics, and finance)
- Provide objective updates and coordinate procurement with business priorities
- Proactively support sales to optimise ordering around commercial needs
- Collaborate with logistics on import clearances and inbound shipment tracking
Supply Chain Process Development
- Help establish formalised SCM processes in alignment with global frameworks
- Identify efficiency improvements or reduced-risk documentation opportunities
- Work alongside the Supply Chain Lead (based in the Netherlands) to ensure scalable procurement growth
Qualifications & Skills
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- 1–2 years’ hands-on experience in buying, procurement, or FMCG supply chain coordination
- Proven SAP expertise in order management and documentation
- Comfortable working 5 days onsite (office-based)
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- High data entry accuracy and attention to detail
- Thrives in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with process-building responsibilities
- Independent folder with initiative, capable of cross-functional communication (sales, finance, logistics)
- Familiarity with intercompany/international supply chains, import clearances, and direct-from-manufacturer flows is a bonus
- Previous overseas subsidiary experience reporting into a different HQ is advantageous

What We Offer
- Salary: £33,000–£41,000 gross (pro-rata experience)
- Annual leave: 25 days + UK bank holidays
- Pension: Automatic 5% employer contribution; minimum 3% employee contribution
- Wellbeing: £50/month allowance for fitness, sports or yoga
- Benefits: Company phone, laptop and life insurance
- Working environment: Fully office-based (Wimbledon HQ) with core hours 08:00–17:30, 5 days/week
- Permanent contract following a 3-month probationary period, directly with the client
