The Vacancy

Join 3Keel (part of the Fera Science Group) as a Junior Consultant and kick start your career in sustainability consulting, in one of our 3 major business units: Climate, Nature & Resources; Commodity Supply Chains; and Agriculture & Landscapes.

3Keel has 3 business units, which together tackle challenging client problems, developing novel approaches to sustainability issues. These business units specialise in the core sectors of food & drink; FMCG; and retail, and have expertise in supply chains right back to agriculture, fisheries and other natural resources. Our work regularly interfaces with the interests of NGOs, policy-makers and local authorities. You can read more about each of these business units via the links below:

  • Climate, Nature & Resources
  • Commodity Supply Chains
  • Agriculture & Landscapes

Junior Consultants at 3Keel are starting out in their sustainability consulting career, so the role is ideal for recent graduates, or those with equivalent foundational experience from an apprenticeship or internship in a relevant field. They will bring this experience/learning to support the delivery of high quality and impactful projects, whilst also continually developing their knowledge and consulting skills. This will involve working closely with long-standing 3Keel clients, including retail, hospitality and FMCG manufacturing.

What you’ll be doing:

Project Management & Delivery

  • Contribute to high-quality, impactful project work for clients
  • Support work led by more senior staff (Consultant, Seniors, Principals or Directors), aiming to grow independence and skills
  • Track and manage internal systems and processes (e.g., logging time, tasks, and invoices)

Technical Expertise & Analysis

  • Interpret qualitative and quantitative data to provide clear insights to clients
  • Conduct research and distill complex topics to concise client-ready information
  • Contribute to knowledge management by participating in project reviews and building personal knowledge of relevant industry areas

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

In April 2026, 3Keel began an exciting new chapter in the company’s 13-year development, joining Fera Science Ltd. as its advisory wing. 3Keel was acquired by Fera because the 3Keel directors saw the considerable opportunities to combine their proven advisory expertise with the science and unique technical abilities of Fera. 3Keel continues to operate as a distinct business unit within Fera, and as the two organisations collaborate more closely new joint services will be developed and launched.

This is a position in 3Keel, although there will be plenty of exposure to - and opportunities with - the wider Fera business.

What’s in it for you?

  • 25 days’ holiday (rising to 29) with the opportunity to buy & sell extra leave.
  • Flexible working hours
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Company-matched pension, life assurance, a cycle2work scheme…and plenty more.

How to apply:

Please apply with a CV and covering letter (not more than one side) outlining what makes you a good fit for the role. Please ensure you state which of the business units you are interested in applying to, in your application, if you have a preference.

Application deadline:

3 August 2026
