Junior Consultant (London, UK)

Consultant Role – Accelerating Consulting Capability

This role is ideal for professionals with 12–24 months’ demonstrable experience in a professional services or consulting organisation, eager to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced, and values-led environment.

Our Consultants play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional outcomes for clients across diverse sectors and services. Beyond client delivery, they contribute to relationship building, business development, and reinforcing both the client practice and wider Q5 team.

1. Commercial & Business Growth

  • Support initiatives that drive revenue growth through research, proposal development, and refinement.
  • Assist in shaping proposals and identifying opportunities for new business.
  • Conduct sectoral and market research to stay proactive and competitive.
  • Build commercial awareness and understanding of client needs.
  • Develop internal and external professional networks.
  • Identify ways to enhance project impact, delivering long-term value.

2. Client Delivery

  • Support project teams in delivering high-quality results for clients.
  • Analyse problems critically, exploring innovative and actionable solutions.
  • Translate data (quantitative & qualitative) into clear, impactful client presentations.
  • Communicate effectively, avoiding unnecessary jargon.
  • Produce Professional reports, presentations, and materials.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Assist with project planning, workflow coordination, and logistics.

3. Q5 Team Contribution

  • Uphold company values in all client and colleague interactions.
  • Proactively engage in team-building, wellbeing initiatives, and Foundation projects.
  • Contribute to developing Q5’s sectors/services expertise.
  • Act as a buddy/integrator for new team members.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Growth

  • Advance business development via research, proposal edits, and proofreading.
  • Collaborate on refining pitches to secure new opportunities.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative in researching clients and market trends.
  • Foster an understanding of consulting commercials and business operations.
  • Scale networks internally and externally to drive growth.
  • Showcase value by identifying project expansion opportunities.

Client Delivery

  • Execute high standards in client project support.
  • Break down complex problems into actionable strategies.
  • Generating Evidence-based reports and data-driven insights.
  • Present findings succinctly and professionally.
  • Craft impactful visual aids & client-facing materials.
  • Organise stakeholder engagement** (e.g., workshops, presentations).
  • Help streamline project delivery processes.

Q5 Team Contribution

  • Align interactions with Q5’s core values (collaboration, integrity, growth).
  • Participate in team-wide initiatives such as:
    • Building sector competencies.
    • Engaging in wellbeing programmes and Foundation work.
    • Supporting new joiners via buddy pairings and mentorships.
  • Drive personal development through regular feedback and learning.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following essential criteria for this role:

Experience & Education

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • 12–24 months’ consulting or professional services experience (demonstrate adaptability and capabilities).
  • Ability to work independently and with urgency in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft 365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
