I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Understand their challenges,
- Dig into their data,
- Uncover insights that transform how they operate,
- Communicate those findings clearly and actionably.
This is not a back-office analytics role. You'll be client-facing, intellectually challenged, and given real responsibility from day one. Our best junior consultants don’t stay junior for long.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Collecting, cleaning, and organising data from diverse sources (e.g., databases, spreadsheets, APIs, web-based tools).
- Preparing and structuring data for analysis through quality checks, error correction, and formatting for statistical software.
- Analyzing data using tools like Excel, SQL, Python, or R to find trends, insights, and actionable patterns.
- Translating complex data findings into clear, compelling narratives for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Partnering with clients to deeply understand their business objectives, co-developing data-driven strategies to achieve them.
- Steadily upping your game by investing in professional development as the data and AI landscape evolves rapidly.
Requirements
We're looking for builders, thinkers, and fast learners—people who thrive in ambiguity, deliver impact, and hold their own in high-stakes discussions. You're the type who thinks "why?" before jumping into "how?" and never settles for "good enough."
Given you’ll be part of a growing regional team, we need someone who: ✔ Is intellectually curious, ✔ Works independently, ✔ thrives in collaboration, ✔ Is hungry to grow.
