About the Role
Anthesis is the sustainability activator, empowering over 1,300 experts globally to drive sustainable performance and create long-term value. Our Value Chain Transformation team supports private, public, and not-for-profit organisations in addressing sustainability challenges from raw materials to end markets.
We are seeking a Junior Consultant to join this team in the UK. This entry-level position focuses on supporting Monitoring, Reporting, and Verification (MRV) programmes for global fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) and agri-food clients, alongside broader supplier engagement and responsible sourcing efforts.
As a Junior Consultant, you will:
- Work within a project team to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Develop technical knowledge and consulting skills.
- Gain broad exposure to sustainability challenges and solutions.
- Build strong foundations for progression within Anthesis.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery
- Support the delivery of MRV and supplier engagement programmes for global FMCG/agri-food clients.
- Assist in preparing client deliverables, including:
- Reports
- Presentations
- Data summaries
- Support project coordination, including:
- Tracking timelines
- Managing actions and outputs
- Contribute to internal and client meetings (preparation and note-taking).

Data & Analysis
- Support data collection, cleaning, and validation across MRV programmes.
- Assist with analysing environmental/supply chain data, such as:
- Greenhouse gas emissions
- Land use
- Living wages
- Maintain and update:
- Datasets
- Trackers
- Reporting tools
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and data sources.
Supplier & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support supplier onboarding and engagement within MRV frameworks.
- Prepare communications, guidance materials, and training content.
- Track supplier participation and follow up on data/engagement activities.
Research & Insight
- Conduct research on sustainability topics, with focus on:
- Agri-food systems
- Supply chains
- Develop insights and content for client deliverables.
- Build knowledge of frameworks such as:
- GHG Protocol
- Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- Evaluate sustainability incentives/adoption mechanisms for supplier engagement.
Team Support
- Provide administrative and coordination support across project teams.
- Contribute to:
- Internal knowledge sharing
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- Support business development activities (e.g. desk-based research).
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as:
- Environmental science
- Sustainability
- Agriculture
- Geography
- Economics
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excel proficiency and confidence in working with data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while collaborating in a team.
- Demonstrable interest in sustainability, agri-food systems, or regenerative agriculture.

Desirable
- Understanding of sustainability frameworks, including:
- GHG Protocol
- SBTi
- Scope 3 emissions
- Exposure to agri-food or FMCG supply chains.
- Experience with:
- Datasets
- Reporting tools
- Data visualisation
- Knowledge of MRV approaches or environmental metrics.
