Job title: Junior Contaminated Land Specialist
Salary: GBP30,000 : GBP35,000

A specialist environmental consultancy is looking to recruit a Junior Contaminated Land Specialist to join their remediation team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or junior consultant to gain hands-on experience working on contaminated land and remediation projects alongside experienced specialists.
The successful Junior Contaminated Land Specialist will support the delivery of site investigations, remediation projects, and environmental assessments across a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You will receive excellent training and mentoring while developing your technical knowledge and progressing your career.

The Successful Junior Contaminated Land Specialist Will Have
- A degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or a related subject
- Around 6 months to 2 years experience within contaminated land, geo-environmental, or remediation consultancy (graduates with relevant placements are encouraged)
- An interest in contaminated land assessment and remediation
- Good report writing and communication skills
- A full UK driving licence

Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with intrusive site investigations and environmental sampling
- Supporting the design and delivery of remediation projects
- Monitoring remediation works on site
- Logging soils and groundwater during ground investigations
- Assisting with contaminated land risk assessments
- Producing factual reports and supporting interpretative reporting
- Liaising with contractors, clients, and subcontractors
- Ensuring work is completed safely and in line with current guidance
