Job Description

Company Overview

UK Networks Services(UKNS) is a specialist grid engineering company delivering high-voltage electricity network designs and smart grid control systems that enable faster, smarter connections to the UK electricity network.

Our PLC-based control systems are deployed nationwide, from high-street retail sites to large-scale data centres and complex energy infrastructure projects.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Junior Control Panel Technician to support the build, test, install and commission our PLC-based smart grid control systems across the UK.

Full training will be provided on our proprietary control systems. Good foundational knowledge in electrical engineering, electrical installation, panel wiring or a related technical discipline is more important than prior PLC programming experience.

You will work alongside experienced panel builders, automation engineers, control engineers and project engineers, developing the practical and technical skills required to become a well-rounded technician and a key part of the company's growth.

This role offers a clear development pathway, with structured training and support to help the successful candidate grow their technical capability across electrical panel build, testing, site installation, commissioning and smart grid control systems.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
