Junior Controls Engineer (Training on DCS Programming)
Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 (OTE £65K+) + 10% bonus + £7,000 car allowance + healthcare + 12% pension Location: Warrington
About the Role
Are you a Controls, Systems, Automation, or similar Engineer looking for expert training on how to programme Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for a globally recognised OEM leader in intrinsically safe automation?
Do you want to become a technical expert in DCS programming, specialise in functional safety, and achieve TÜV certifications?
This role offers:
- Full training on programming redundant automated safety systems used in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, and oil & gas industries
- Occasional travel to site and offshore (for commissioning systems) with overtime and offshore pay rates

This position is ideal for a Control Systems Engineer, PLC Programmer, or Service Engineer looking to step into a hybrid role with expert training and TÜV certification.
Key Responsibilities
- Programming distributed control systems for industrial automation
- Flexible hybrid working (up to 3 days per week from home)
- Occasional travel (up to 2 weeks offshore)
- Every other Friday off (flexible working policy)
Requirements
-Experience as a Controls Engineer or similar
- Ability to programme Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) or Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- UK driving licence
