About the role
As a Junior Delivery Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping shape and deliver discovery and client experience design initiatives across HL. Working closely with Delivery, Research and Design Leads, you’ll help ensure work is well planned, clearly briefed, appropriately resourced and delivered effectively.
You’ll support the smooth day-to-day running of experience design activity by managing schedules, tracking capacity, spotting risks, dependencies and bottlenecks, and keeping delivery plans on track so our designers can focus on creating great client experiences. Acting as a central point of coordination for the Experience Design & Research team, you’ll build strong relationships across Product, Engineering, Transformation Office, Compliance, Marketing and other business areas to improve visibility, alignment and workflow.
You’ll also support the Delivery Lead in embedding consistent delivery practices, maintaining good delivery hygiene and helping evolve the client experience design operating model.
What you’ll be doing
- Co-ordinate the day-to-day delivery of client experience design initiatives, ensuring work is clearly scoped, briefed, organised, and progresses through the appropriate design governance processes.
- Maintain team schedules, capacity and allocations, keeping an accurate view of availability and highlighting short-term resourcing challenges to the Delivery Lead and Design Leads.
- Track timelines, deadlines, dependencies and risks, escalating issues to the Delivery Lead and Design Leads where required to support delivery progress and confidence.
- Facilitate planning and workflow rituals (e.g. kick-off and briefing calls, design reviews, weekly team planning calls), ensuring designers have the clarity and structure needed to deliver high-quality outputs.
- Maintain up-to-date delivery documentation, including plans, schedules and project boards, supporting transparency and good delivery hygiene.
- Act as a point of coordination between the design team and cross-functional partners (Product, Engineering, Marketing, Compliance, etc.), supporting alignment, transparency and the smooth progression of work.
- Provide clear and timely delivery updates to the Delivery Lead and Design Leads, highlighting progress, capacity, blockers and support required across active initiatives.
- Support the adoption of delivery practices, standards and tooling, encouraging consistent ways of working and helping to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the Research Delivery Manager to coordinate experience design work that intersects with research timelines, insights or validation activities.
- Promote a calm, structured and organised delivery environment, helping to create the conditions for designers to focus on craft quality and client outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
