ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

A Junior Border Control Deployment Engineer supports the planning, installation, configuration, and maintenance of automated border control systems such as eGates, kiosks, biometric devices, and supporting software. The role involves working under the guidance of senior engineers and project leads to ensure smooth deployments at airports, seaports, and land borders.

  • Support integration with backend servers, network infrastructure, and security components.
  • Participate in hardware setup, wiring, and connectivity verification.
  • Configure application software, databases, and middleware components under supervision.
  • Execute and document functional and performance tests (e.g., biometric enrolment, document reader accuracy, system throughput).
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve first-line hardware and software issues.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to senior engineers or vendors when required.
  • Apply system updates, patches, and hotfixes as directed.
  • Provide on-site support during acceptance testing (UAT, FAT, SAT) and project deployments.
  • Prepare deployment documentation, installation logs, and technical reports in line with SOPs and security standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
