Junior Design Engineer
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Plastics Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred; relevant experience in extrusion tooling design considered.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, Mastercam, AutoCAD) required.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System, experience with ISO 13485 preferred.
- Strong analytical, technical, and computer skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and proactive problem-solving ability.

Engineering Assistant Manager
Primary Job Responsibility
Supports the design and programming of extrusion tooling for new products and the optimisation of existing tooling to improve process efficiency and product quality.
Essential Functions of Position
Tooling Design & Engineering Support
- Interpret and create detailed engineering drawings for extrusion tooling and components.
- Program wire EDM using Mastercam for precision tooling fabrication.
- Convert part and tooling drawings to CAD as needed.
- Assist with transitioning prototypes to production, maintaining accurate documentation throughout.
- Support troubleshooting and modification of existing tooling to optimize extrusion processes.

Collaboration & Communication
- Serve as a liaison between Engineering, Machine Shop, and Production to facilitate the fabrication and implementation of new tooling.
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges and relay updates on process changes or deviations.
- Participate in technical meetings and contribute to process improvement discussions.
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all work complies with ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and internal QMS requirements.
- Maintain and update documentation for prototype development, tooling changes, and process improvements.
- Use and maintain relevant engineering and production records in designated server locations.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for non-conformances related to tooling and extrusion processes.
