About Love & Roses
Love & Roses is for the woman who isn’t afraid to push boundaries, she’ll set her own trend, with unique styles, playful prints, and fabulous fabrics at her core.
Role Purpose:
The Junior Designer is responsible for driving the design and development of their assigned product area, building a balanced and comprehensive offer that aligns with the required pricing structure and margin targets. This role combines a strong affinity for fast fashion with commerciality, utilizing the latest catwalk and trend predictions to offer constant newness to the customer.
Role Responsibilities:
Design & Creativity
- Take responsibility for the design, development, and delivery of relevant, trend-led products for a specific product area.
- Collaborate with the Design Manager and wider Design team to build seasonal trends, concepts, and color direction for the brand.
- Identify and highlight key seasonal items, design details, and fabrications.
- Create seasonal mood and trend boards and confidently present new product ranges to management and buying teams.
- Travel to key regions, such as India and China, to develop products and support the range build process.

Technical & Commercial Execution
- Work closely with Buying and Merchandising teams to build and support the overall department strategy.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of pricing, margins, and the "design to price point" process to ensure commercial viability.
- Utilize excellent hand sketching and technical garment drawing skills to execute design concepts.
- Manage own time effectively to meet all deadlines and complete ad-hoc duties as requested to support business development.
- Continually aim to develop professional skills, actively seeking support and guidance from the Line Manager.
Technical Requirements:
- Previous design experience within a high street fashion retailer or supplier environment.
- Excellent hand sketching and technical garment drawing skills.
- A strong eye for color, trends, and fashion with the ability to translate these into commercial products.
- Demonstrable awareness of the retail industry, including potential threats and opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.
