Junior Designer

VCCP Roar is a fully integrated PR and marketing agency, with deep specialisms in consumer, technology, corporate reputation and financial services. The agency brought together three specialist agencies with long heritage in their specialisms: Good Relations (consumer), Harvard (tech) and Teamspirit (financial services) into one fully integrated cross-sector business.

We are disruptors of influence, on a relentless mission to challenge the norm to stay ahead of how influence is earned - and created. We're a 150-person powerhouse and from synthetic audience tools and proprietary AI technology, to thumb-stopping creativity, we are obsessed with being at the forefront of what's next.

THE ROLE

The world of PR, content and marketing has collided.

At Roar, we deliver great work across all of these sectors, with our team of designers creating disruptive social content, animations, brand marketing materials, web designs and presentations every day.

As our workload has grown, we’re opening a new role for a junior designer. You’ll be a creative designer who is looking to break into the industry with a bang! You’ll have a passion for creating attention grabbing work, and be up to date on the latest trends, formats and AI techniques to enhance your work. Whilst some agency experience through placements or a first job would be a bonus, we’re looking for your portfolio, attitude and passion to shine through.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary. Your work will be split across two areas:

  • New business and agency marketing: Breathing life into presentations and turning them into pitch-winning works of art, creating mockups and visualisations. As well as marketing materials for VCCP Roar, eg event invites, posters etc.
  • Client work: Designing content to include social media assets, brochures/press packs, etc. We work across a huge range of sectors including food and drink, FMCG, technology, travel and financial services, so you’ll be working across both consumer-facing and business-facing comms.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You’ll be a part of our creative department – a collaborative 15 person team that works across the whole agency’s design and production needs. You should enjoy working at a fast pace (there are always deadlines!) and be able to adapt to the pressure - yet striving to keep your work creative and quality.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who wants to get involved well beyond the job spec and be ‘creative’ in the broadest sense of the word. Whilst your role is in design, our ambition is that as you become proficient you will have the chance to get involved with our account teams to generate innovative and compelling ideas that often work in conjunction with our creative content.

The successful candidate will be

  • Able to demonstrate a flair and passion for design, with an exciting, creative portfolio
  • Digitally native - some knowledge of online platforms and interested in how content/visuals can be used in social media, as well as the emerging AI trends that help to enhance creative output
  • Able to demonstrate the ability and vision to take concepts from scamp to finished designs
  • Proficient in all the usual Adobe creative suite products, primarily Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. If you can use the others, like Adobe Premiere or After Effects, great!
  • Proficient in Google Slides – from creating deck templates that look engaging to finessing teams’ work into one slick pitch-winning presentation.
  • Able to create attention-grabbing presentations and mock-ups to persuasively sell ideas/executions
  • Strive for excellence - be proud of your work and have meticulous attention to detail/quality control skills
  • Proactive, adaptable and flexible - able to prioritise and work within tight deadlines, be eager to roll your sleeves up and show your can-do attitude
  • A great communicator - able to articulate your ideas and work with a range of people from different teams, build rapport and able to quickly establish trusted working relationships
  • Comfortable researching and applying new and emerging techniques to your work to creative/impactful content.
  • Contribute to a positive, inclusive culture by leaning into agency or social initiatives and always embodies the agency values
