Junior Developer

Junior Developer – Digital Services (Oracle Applications & Integrations)

We’re excited to announce an incredible opportunity to join our team as a Junior Developer! The role includes shaping the future of our digital services and delivering innovative, high-quality solutions.

About the Role

We own and manage approximately 8,000 homes in the East of England, prioritising customer-centric approaches, including our zero-carbon transition, housing improvements, and future developments. Our team collaborates across agencies and stakeholders to build future-focused digital solutions while ensuring strong operational handovers and thoughtfully designed training materials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and refine MyHavebury, our customer-facing portal, ensuring seamless front-end and backend integration.
  • Support digital solution delivery for both internal and external use, including integration workflows and data management.
  • Actively collaborate on digital strategy, contributing ideas and expertise to innovation projects.
  • Partner with IT Applications & Training Coordinators to facilitate product handover and assist in end-user training materials.
  • Provide input on business cases and IT deployment strategies, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Help design, architect, and optimise digital services as the organisation evolves.

Requirements

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Programming: Practical experience in:
    • C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, jQuery, ASP, Visual Basic
  • Mobile Development: Expertise in cross-platform development (including .NET MAUI), with app deployment for both Android & iOS.
  • API & Integration: In-depth knowledge of API development and system connectivity, including data flows and underlying processes.
  • Database & SQL: Advanced skills in:
    • Writing complex SQL queries for Microsoft SQL Server
    • Designing normalised, high-performance databases (analytical and transactional)
    • Experience with ETL processes and SSRS reporting
  • Microsoft Office: Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in data tool integration (e.g., Power BI or similar).

Benefits Package

  • Annual Salary: starting at £39,636.00
  • Location: Hybrid working between home and Bury St Edmunds office
  • Schedule: Flexible across a 37-hour workweek
  • Annual Leave:
    • 28 days per year (including bank holidays), progressing to 32 days after 3 years.
    • Option to carry over, buy or sell up to 5 days annually for flexibility.
  • Pension: 7–12% employee contribution matched by the employer.
