About us

Halfords is on a journey - building the future of motoring and cycling and looking for people who want to help shape what comes next. We’re a place for co‑creators: people who want to make a real impact, take ownership and be part of something that’s still evolving.

As the UK’s leading retailer of motoring and cycling products, we’re supported by one of the country’s largest independent vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair networks through Halfords Autocentres. This breadth gives us a strong, stable foundation - and the freedom to keep innovating and growing.

That means real variety for our colleagues, along with the opportunity to learn, stretch and develop as the business moves forward. Whatever your role, you’ll be part of a team focused on delivering exceptional service - using your expertise to solve problems, guide customers and help keep the nation moving with confidence.

About the role

We’re looking for a Junior Digital Copywriter to join our Creative & Content Team. This role is key in producing timely, engaging and SEO‑optimised digital copy that enhances customer experience, boosts engagement, drives conversion and builds loyalty across the Halfords Group, including Stores, Garages and Halfords Mobile Experts (HME).

You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver accurate, compelling content, bringing excellent communication skills, the ability to manage multiple projects. This role will help to shape content seen by millions across more than 1,000 UK stores and garages writing everything from social posts for iconic bike brands to helpful FAQs on child travel. As AI and Generative Engine Optimisation transform how customers discover brands, this role blends traditional copywriting with innovative, future‑focused thinking to ensure our cycling and motoring products and services remain the go‑to choice.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
