Junior Digitalisation Engineer
Full‐Stack Developer – Digital Infrastructure Solutions

Where You’ll Be Working
BGEN, part of the M Group, is the UK’s largest multidisciplinary design and build contractor with over 100 years of industry experience. We serve critical sectors – Water, Power & Energy, Pharmaceutical, Nuclear, and Food & Beverage – to deliver next-generation, value-driven engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll develop, maintain, and enhance crucial digital infrastructure across infrastructure renewal projects. Your role includes:
- Building helpful digital solutions using:
- Core languages: C#, Java, and JavaScript
- Frameworks: ASP.NET (via StartSharp) and Serenity
- Designing, optimising, and managing MSSQL and MySQL databases, ensuring reliability and performance.
- Developing and supporting APIs that connect our systems.
- Contributing to Digital Transformation projects – driving workflow efficiency and innovation.
- Adhering to best practices and industry standards to ensure consistent, high-quality outcomes.

Essential Requirements
We’re looking for passion and problem-solving, backed by foundational knowledge:
- Basics of C# and ASP.NET, with experience applying it practically.
- /intermediate web development: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (beyond mere familiarity).
- Database familiarity: Comfortable writing queries and designing schemas in MSSQL/MySQL.
- Awareness of .NET and a commitment to exploring startups frameworks like **Serenity.
- Strong debugging and curiosity; able to ask clear questions and learn from senior developers.
- Collaborative attitude: Treats feedback as part of progress, and actively contributes to client-centric solutions.
