Junior Engineer

The Junior Engineer will provide engineering support to both the Cable Maintenance and Converter Station Maintenance teams, helping to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Eleclink interconnector.

The role will support the operation and maintenance of Eleclink's HVDC cable systems, converter stations and associated infrastructure, working alongside experienced engineers, contractors and operational teams in both the UK and France.

The successful candidate will gain practical experience across a broad range of engineering activities including maintenance planning, contractor coordination, technical investigations, asset management, documentation control and engineering projects. The role will work closely with the Cable and Converter teams, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to support the long-term performance and reliability of critical energy infrastructure.

  • Assist in monitoring asset performance and identifying opportunities for reliability improvements.
  • Support investigations into equipment faults, operational incidents and maintenance issues.
  • Help maintain spare parts inventories and support asset lifecycle planning activities.
  • Contribute to root cause analysis and the implementation of corrective actions where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
