Role Description

The Engineering apprentice will be an important part of the team to help deliver and manage various engineering activities, as listed in the Key Objectives, to support Property Management, JLL. Responsibilities include dealing with enquiries, issue proposals in line with agreed templates and framework costs, liaising and working with our suppliers to deliver the works in a timely and professional manner. It will also include the upkeep of the fee project schedule for current work activities from proposal though to work completion, billing and final payment. Assist the team with presenting project progress and portfolio status to internal teams and several clients.

Team Structure

The role will require working closely with the Engineering Business Manager on day-to-day activities with oversight and direction from the Senior Engineering Director and working on a number of Engineering activities, mainly the EPC service. This includes close working and communicating with JLL property managers, FMs, external EPC assessors and sometimes clients. There are other Engineering data sets to be reported to the Property Management Procurement team monthly. The engineering apprentice will also actively engage with other teams within Property Management as well as wider JLL UK departments.

Key Objectives

  • Assist the Engineering team in delivering various engineering management activities, including the EPC service, engineering compliance; supplier performance; energy & carbon analysis; new impactful engineering regulations as well as involvement with our engineering services delivered to the JLL portfolio.
  • Provide analytical support to help meet client requirements as well as, operational reporting that includes summarising key insights of data collected. Deliver meaningful reports based on standard templates that support the data.
  • Issue fee proposals based on pre-agreed fee schedule rates for the EPC service in a time efficient way. Manage EPC instructions from initial enquiry through to final billing and payment. (Full support will be provided working closely with our engineers).
  • Proactively manage billing schedule for EPCs and other Property Management Engineering products for JLL.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other Property Management teams including Sustainable Operations, Procurement, H&S, Accounts etc.
  • Supporting Engineering with portfolio reporting and investigation activities
  • Provide regular group reporting on outsourced Engineering Consultant audits, identifying and highlighting risks, escalating low scores and issues arising

Education And Qualifications

Ideally completed STEM biased A levels or similar standard, with an interest in engineering and/ or property management.

This is an apprenticeship position which includes undertaking a Level 3 Business Administration programme.
