Purpose of the Role:
This is a core team member of McLaren’s ERP programme. This role will gain experience of ERP implementation and ensuring that the configuration and testing of the developed product meets the requirements of the business. This role also is responsible for providing project accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting support to ensure the programme is delivered within approved budgets and with strong financial control.
Project Financial Management, Cost Control & Governance
- Support the preparation and maintenance of the programme budget and forecast, tracking actual spend and commitment.
- Provide monthly project financial reporting, including variance analysis.
- Support the purchase order and contract approval process in line with governance.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and approval frameworks.
- Assist with preparation of materials for SteerCo / Audit / Finance reviews.
- Assist with financial inputs to change requests and business cases.

- Support the configuration and testing of ERP (P2P, O2C, R2R, Projects, GL) from a finance process cycles perspective.
- Assist with data validation and reconciliation during system migration.
- Provide input to reporting requirements and financial dashboards.
- Provide backfill support to the finance team where SMEs lean into the project.
Commercial & Supplier Support
- Track system integrator (SI) and vendor costs against contract terms.
- Support ongoing monitoring of contractual spend vs approved budgets.
- Analyse key cost drivers and highlight risks/opportunities.
Reporting & Analysis
- Populate weekly and monthly finance packs for programme leadership.
- Support preparation of cashflow forecasts for the programme.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Good understanding of good process and ERP system capability.
- Good understanding of finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C) and accounting principles.
- Experience in product ownership, business analysis, or ERP governance desirable, but not essential.
- Comfort in working in a sprint environment with changing tasks and priorities.
- Ability to translate business needs into system requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially aware, able to connect platform decisions to business outcomes.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.

The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
