Midsomer Norton

Do you have a background in pipefitting or welding looking to move off the tools and into a commercial estimating role? We are looking for someone eager to take the next step in their career, with full support and training to become a Mechanical Estimator, while leveraging your hands-on fabrication experience.

On offer is the opportunity to join a growing mechanical engineering business during an exciting phase of expansion, working closely with the Senior Estimator and project teams to produce accurate and commercially robust tender submissions. You will translate drawings and specifications into detailed cost build-ups that reflect real site conditions and fabrication capability.

In this role, you will use your pipefitting or welding experience to help work out how much mechanical projects will cost. You will look at drawings, count the parts and work needed, and calculate the price for materials and labour. You will work with the Senior Estimator and the team to make sure the costs match and liaise with suppliers and subcontractors.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
