Job Overview
We have an opportunity for a Junior Estimator to join Custom Solar working out of our Chesterfield office reporting to the Commercial Manager. Custom Solar sits within the Power and Grid business unit within Mitie. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading specialist Solar PV developers and contribute to the Commercial/Estimating department. You will work alongside Estimating/Commercial team members under the guidance of the Commercial Manager, to achieve the business commercial objectives and interests. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently graduated, looking to begin their Estimating career.

Main Duties
- Support the Estimating team with administrative and project related tasks.
- Assist in the preparation of estimates for Tender Submissions, using drawings, specifications and site information.
- Assisting with the preparation of Bill of Quantities.
- Liaise with project managers, procurement, commercial and design teams.
- Research and analyse costs for materials, plant and subcontractors.
- Assist in completing measured take-offs.
- Assist in obtaining quotations from subcontractors for packages of work.
- Contribute to weekly commercial meetings.
- Conduct site visits alongside the wider commercial team where required.
- Ensure work is carried out in line with internal processes and governance.

Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying.
- Strong communication, numerical and analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Willingness to learn and integrate within a supportive environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
