We're looking for a Junior Facilities Security Officer who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.
What You'll Do
Your work may include:
Security and Compliance
- Working with security policies, and government security standards
- Implementing physical, personnel, and information security measures
- Maintaining compliance with security regulations and audit requirements
Facility and Site Management
- Assist with Day-to-day management of the secure facilities
- Oversight of contractors working in secure environments
- Managing keys, passes, visitor control, and access permissions and CCTV monitoring
- Dealing with routine maintenance of physical security systems
Risk Management & Assurance
- Monitoring threats and vulnerabilities affecting facilities
- Supporting internal and external security audits
- Registering of secure assets
- Ensuring secure storage of classified materials
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement
- Liaising with staff and stakeholders
- Writing clear reports and maintaining accurate security records
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to challenge non-compliance appropriately
- Plus any other Ad hoc tasks to support the Facilities Security Lead

What We're Looking For
We value people who take ownership, think critically, and enjoy working as part of a collaborative team tackling complex challenges. You don't need to tick every box, but we're particularly interested in people with skills/experience in:
- Strong attention to detail and situational awareness
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to follow procedures and work independently
- Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office, security systems, or similar)
- Professional and approachable manner
Desirable:
- Previous experience in security, facilities, or customer service
- Knowledge of Access control, Intrusion detection and CCTV systems
- SC Clearance or above
Just as important are curiosity, strong problem-solving ability, and the motivation to continuously improve how technology is designed and delivered.
