Junior Family Solicitor
Junior Family Solicitor – 6 months – 3 years PQE – £40-50K dep on PQE, Surrey - Hybrid Working
Are you a junior family solicitor with some post-qualification experience looking to join a niche, specialist practice with a strong reputation across South London? This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded family law team offering high-quality private client work, a friendly culture, and hybrid working after an initial settling-in period.
Our client is a boutique family law firm handling exclusively private family matters, including divorce, matrimonial finance, child arrangements (private law), ToLATA disputes, and Family Law Act matters. They are now seeking a junior family solicitor with some post-qualification experience who can bring solid experience across all areas of family law, particularly finance, which makes up around two-thirds of the caseload.
The Role
This position is ideal for a junior family solicitor who is ready to take ownership of their own files while also assisting senior team members on more complex matters. You will work across divorce, financial remedy, child arrangements, ToLATA, and domestic abuse matters, gaining exposure to a broad range of high-quality work.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
