Junior Finance Analyst - 12 Month Fixed Term
Overview At Screwfix, our Commercial Finance team plays a vital role in helping the business make smart, data-driven decisions that support growth and performance across the UK. We’re looking for a Junior Finance Analyst to join our Commercial Finance team at our Head Office in Yeovil on a 12 months fixed term basis. This is an exciting opportunity for someone early in their finance career who enjoys working with data, solving problems, and delivering meaningful commercial insights in a fast-paced retail environment. Reporting to the Finance Business Partner and working closely with Finance Managers, Business Partners, and cross-functional teams, you’ll support key areas of the business by delivering financial analysis, weekly trading reports, and ad-hoc commercial insights across promotions, Front of House performance, and range extensions. This is a hands-on analytical role that offers fantastic exposure across the business, with opportunities to learn, develop, and grow your finance and commercial skillset while supporting one of the UK’s leading retailers. We’re looking for someone with a strong business and commercial mindset who is curious about how financial insight can influence performance and drive decision-making across the organisation. Deliver accurate and timely Monday trading reports in partnership with Finance Managers and Business Partners. Provide financial analysis and insight to support commercial planning and wider business growth initiatives. Produce ad-hoc analysis and reporting to support fast, data-driven decision making across the business. Work collaboratively with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business performance and identify opportunities. Support continuous improvement within Commercial Finance by identifying opportunities to automate reporting and streamline processes. Help maintain and improve business and commercial models used across the finance function. Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across Finance and the wider business. Qualifications A relevant degree or equivalent qualification within a STEM-related subject area. A strong interest in finance and a desire to work towards a professional finance qualification. Intermediate Excel skills, with the ability and willingness to learn new reporting systems and tools. Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work with complex data. A strong business and commercial mindset, with an interest in understanding how financial performance impacts wider business outcomes. Naturally curious, with a desire to understand how things work and communicate findings clearly to others. Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders. A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage changing priorities. Commercial awareness and an interest in retail performance and wider market trends.
