Square Enix is a leading publisher of entertainment content, known for iconic digital game franchises such as the Final Fantasy series, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest, NieR, and Life is Strange. We are looking for a numerate, curious, and detail-oriented Junior Forecast Analyst to support forecasting, market analysis, and performance reporting across our console and PC games portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills who is passionate about video games and eager to have a meaningful impact on the way we do business. Working closely with the Forecast Operations Manager and wider analytics team, the successful candidate will help us interpret complex data and apply it in a practical way across forecasting and planning.
This role offers an opportunity to develop commercial forecasting and games market analytics experience in a collaborative environment.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and maintenance of forecasts, scenario analyses, and performance tracking for upcoming and released titles
- Assist in building and maintaining Excel-based models, reports, and dashboards with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail
- Analyse sales, pricing, promotional, and market data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across console and PC games
- Research competitors, comparable titles, genre trends, and platform dynamics to support forecasting assumptions and recommendations
- Work with internal stakeholders across sales, marketing, finance, and analytics to gather inputs and communicate findings clearly
- Help validate data inputs, check model outputs, and ensure analytical work is well-structured, traceable, and reliable.
- Create/proofread management review packs and summary documents.
- Ad hoc admin, reporting and project work

Requirements
Essential
- Analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and solve problems in a structured way
- Excel skills and confidence working with data sets, models, and quantitative analysis
- Mathematical skills, including confidence with statistics, modelling, probability, and structured problem-solving
- A strong interest in, and understanding of, the console and PC games market
- High attention to detail, good organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks to deadline
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders
Desirable
- Experience with Python for data analysis or modelling
- Experience using SQL to query and manipulate structured data
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience
- Japanese language skills (Native or JLPT N1)
